NATIONWIDE: Plycem Recalls Decking after Injuries Reported

NATIONWIDE (November 21, 2017) – Plycem has released a recall for its line of Allura fiber cement decking and fascia on November 21st, according to a report by the Consumer Product Safety Commision.

The decking was sold at Home Depot as a special order item between 02/2014-06/2017, and was carried in stock at several other distributors. The decking was sold in 12 foot lengths and is 6 inches wide.

The decking is reportedly prone to breaking, and at least one consumer has fallen through the decking and sustained a leg injury. Any consumer who has been injured as a result of the recalled decking may have a case.

“Some products are manufactured in a way that makes them inherently unsafe in order to simply save money during the manufacturing process. Shortcuts cannot be made or lives may be put in danger. Consumer Safety should never be optional,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law.
