The accident happened around 6:04 pm at the intersection of Cajon Boulevard and Kern Street. A pedestrian was struck by a green Mitsubishi Mirage which immediately fled the scene.

The pedestrian suffered major injuries in the accident and was hospitalized. The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time. The registered owner of the vehicle is reportedly Mario Martinez, however a friend of Mario Martinez called the police station and stated that the car had been stolen from a liquor store around 8:00 pm the same night of the accident.

“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
