“Rain may be a factor in the accident”
MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA (January 22, 2017) – According to the Murrieta Police Department, 26-year-old Leah Reay was killed on Sunday in a DUI collision on Hot Springs Road and Alta Murrieta Drive. (map)
MPD Sergeant Jay Froboese reported that a silver Chrysler 300 was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on Murrieta Hot Springs Road around 9:00 p.m. when he drove pass a patrol vehicle and ran a red light at Jackson Avenue.
Sergeant Froboese states that Reay was making a left turn when the Chrysler 300 crashed into her vehicle. Reay was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler 300, a Perris teenager, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
It’s unfortunate that motorists under the influence disregard the negative effects that may ensue from driving under the influence. DUI drivers continue to endanger the safety of everyone.
