“Investigation Ongoing”

MURRAY COUNTY, GEORGIA (July 1 , 2017) – Four people were killed in a plane crash in northwest Georgia on Saturday, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened on Saturday around 4:45 pm in the afternoon, near Piney Hill Road and Old Highway. A small, twin engine Piper PA-23 took off from Tennessee, and crashed near Chatsworth carrying four people.

The four people on board were all tragically killed in the crash. They have been identified as 55 year old pilot Dexter Lee Gresham, his wife 61 year old Mary Jo Yarbrough, and Yarbough’s two grandchildren, 10 year old Austin Day and 10 year old Kinsley Wilson.

Initial reports have indicated that the plane disintegrated mid air, which has been substantiated by witness reports at the scene. The accident remains under active investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all the family members and friends of Dexter Lee Gresham, Mary Jo Yabrough, Austin Day and Kinsley Wilson as they cope with such tragic loss,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all parties affected in this tragedy as they try to piece together what happened.”
