Riverside County and Moreno Valley Fire Departments responded to the traffic collision at approximately 4:15 a.m. involving a white Ford Explorer and a grey Chevy Silverado. The Silverado rear ended the Explorer. The impact caused the Explorer to lose control, roll down and embankment, and strike a large tree.

Rescue crews had to use extrication methods in order to free Soto, who was a passenger, from the Explorer. Soto was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Explorer had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to a local trauma center with major injuries.

A Sig-Alert was issued for part of the eastbound 60 Freeway in order to complete the rescue efforts. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the deadly collision.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends as they cope with such tragic loss,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all parties affected in this tragedy as they try to piece together what happened.”
