The accident happened around 1:07 am on Castroville Boulevard. A pedestrian was struck by a gray Toyota Camry in the area, and it is unknown whether the victim was in a crosswalk or not at the time of the accident.
The pedestrian was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene with their doors locked, according to the report. The investigation is ongoing by the California Highway Patrol.
