MONTEREY PARK, CALIFORNIA (December 23, 2016) – A 25 year old woman was killed in an accident on Friday morning on the 60 freeway, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 3:45 am on the westbound side of the 60 freeway near Garfield Avenue. A 2012 Hyundai driven by a 27 year old woman struck the center divider for unknown reasons.
The 25 year old passenger in the Hyundai, identified as Eugenia Zavaleta, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The 27 year old driver was rushed to a hospital with major injuries, and was later arrested on suspicion of DUI. The investigation is ongoing.
