Pedestrian Injured after Being Hit by Vehicle on Castroville Boulevard
MONTEREY, CA– A pedestrian was injured after an accident that occurred on Castroville Boulevard at around 1:05 a.m. yesterday. According to a report by the CHP, the pedestrian was hit by a gray Toyota Camry.
The accident may or may not have happened within the crosswalk. The driver responsible for the accident was found sitting inside their vehicle with the doors locked, parked on the roadway. An ambulance and emergency crews were called in to attend to the injured pedestrian.
Paramedics assessed that the pedestrians’ injuries were non-life-threatening. It remains unclear how the crash occurred or who was at fault. Authorities have not released any additional details to date and the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
