MONROE: School Bus Accident on Avenue D and 10th Street Injures Two Children

“School Bus Accident”

MONROE, NEW JERSEY (December 19, 2016) – Two young children and the driver of a school bus were injured in an accident on Monday at the intersection of Avenue D and 10th Street, according to local news sources. (map)

The accident happened around 3:51 pm at the intersection of 10th Street and Avenue D. A school bus, driven by 59 year old Nesly Belot, was traveling west on Avenue D when it failed to yield at the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection. The bus then collided with a 2001 Ford driven by 49 year old George M. Cooper of East Brunswick.

The impact caused the bus to then veer off the road. Two children, a 9 year old boy and a 10 year old boy, suffered injuries and were hospitalized. The driver of the Ford, George Cooper, was also transported to the hospital. The driver of the school bus was cited for careless driving.

“Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent driver who caused the accident,” said a car accident and personal injury lawyer.
