CHP Sergeant Nelda Banuelos reported that a Honda, driven by the hit-run-run motorist, was traveling northbound on Ninth Street around 4:20 a.m. when he broadsided a motorhome that was traveling in the slow lane. Both vehicles went off the roadway. The motorhome landed on its left side. The driver of the Honda fled the scene of the accident before authorities arrived.
Sergeant Banuelos states that the 84-year-old woman was in the back of the motorhome and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the motorhome and his front seat passenger were transported to a hospital with major injuries.
“It saddens me that an innocent victim has been killed at the hands of a reckless hit-and-run driver. It’s only a matter of time before authorities locate the responsible individual and bring justice upon them,” said a California hit-and-run accident and personal injury lawyer.
