MODESTO, CALIFORNIA (May 19, 2017) – A semi truck was involved in a collision on State Route 99 on Friday, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 11:52 am on the northbound side of State Route 99 near Standiford Avenue. A white Mercedes was involved in a collision with a semi truck for an unknown reason, and the Mercedes struck the trailer of the big rig hard enough that it almost ended up underneath it, before crashing into the center divider.
At least one person inside the Mercedes suffered severe injuries, but the condition of all those involved is unknown. The accident remains under active investigation to determine cause and liability.
