Police Searching for Hit-and-Run Driver

MODESTO, CALIFORNIA (December 8, 2016) – A 27-year-old man, Angel Lopez, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Thursday night in Modesto, reported the Modesto Bee. (map)

The collision occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Tenaya Drive west of Daly Avenue near the Modesto Airport.

The victim, Angel Lopez, 27, was found lying in the eastbound lane of Tenaya Drive after being struck by a white Dodge Neon.

The circumstances surrounding the deadly crash are unclear. Some reports indicate the driver of the Dodge got out of the vehicle to check on the man, then got back in and left the scene.

The CHP is searching for the driver of the Dodge Neon. They are also asking anyone with information to call CHP Officer Matt McCain at 209-545-7440.
