23-Year-Old Oceanside Man Killed in I-5 Accident
MISSION VIEJO, CALIFORNIA (December 17, 2016) – A 23-year-old man from Oceanside is dead after his motorcycle collided with three vehicles on the 5 Freeway near Crown Valley Parkway, reported the OC Register. (map)
The crash occurred at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday afternoon on the 5 North Freeway at Crown Valley Parkway.
A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was riding a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Interstate 5 when he braked and lost control of the motorcycle.
The man and the motorcycle crashed into a 1997 Chevrolet driven by a 79-year-old man, a 2013 Mercedes Benz driven by a Dana Point woman and a 2016 Volvo driven by a 52-year-old Lynwood man.
Sadly, the motorcycle rider died at the scene of the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is Investigating the cause of the crash.
