MIRA MESA, CALIFORNIA (February 16, 2017) – One woman was killed and a man was injured on Thursday morning after being struck by a car in Mira Mesa, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 6:00 am at the intersection of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Marbury Avenue. A man and a woman were both struck by a car at the intersection, leaving the car with a smashed windshield from the impact.

The female pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel. The man was rushed to a hospital with unknown injuries. The driver that struck the two pedestrians remained at the scene after the accident and cooperated with authorities in their ongoing investigation.
