MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA (February 24, 2017) – A woman that was killed in a DUI accident on 29th Avenue and Newton Avenue on Friday has been identified as Lisa Esping, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened on Friday evening, at the intersection of Newton Avenue and 29th Avenue. Lisa Esping, a 55 year old woman, was heading east on 29th Avenue in her SUV when she was struck by a 28 year old man driving south on Newton Avenue. The impact was severe enough to push Lisa Esping’s car into a tree.
Lisa Esping was tragically pronounced dead as a result of her injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, 28 year old Regis L. Welsh, initially fled the scene but returned. Initial reports indicate Regis Welsh may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
