MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA (February 20, 2017) – A construction worker was killed on Monday afternoon in a workplace accident off of Highway 169 and Bren Road, according to a local news source. (map)

38-year-old David Earl Hyde was unloading metal pipes from a trailer around 2:30 p.m., when one of the pipes weighing almost 2,500 lbs fell onto him. Tragically, David Earl Hyde was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
