MERCED, CA (February 15, 2017) – Tonya Lane, 38, was killed in a solo-vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday morning on Highway 140 near Orchard Drive. (map)
CHP Officers arrived at the scene of the crash upon receiving reports of a collision that occurred at about 8:27 a.m. of a vehicle hitting a cement wall, resulting in a woman dying. Lane was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Caviler, veered off the road, striking a concrete canal embankment and was pinned inside her car. Lane’s two twin three-year-old sons sustained minor injures and were rushed to the Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto. All passengers were reportedly wearing their seat-belts.
CHP are currently investigating the accident to determine the cause.
