MENLO PARK: Two Workers Injured in Accident at Facebook Construction Site

“Investigation Ongoing”

MENLO PARK, CALIFORNIA (April 26, 2017) – An accident at the construction site of a new Facebook building left two workers with injuries on Wednesday, according to an article by ABC7. (map)

The accident happened around 5:30 pm at the construction site for Facebook’s Building 21, a Frank Gehry inspired project. Two workers were putting together steel framing for the building when a beam suffered a catastrophic failure and dropped 20 feet, catching onto other parts of the building as it fell. The workers were wearing safety harnesses and rigging, which stopped their fall before they hit the ground.

Both workers suffered puncture wounds and pain in their lower bodies and were rushed to a local hospital in unknown condition. OSHA is on site and investigating the incident. The fire chief on scene says it is a miracle the two men survived the accident.

“We wish a swift and steady recovery for the workers injured in this accident. Our prayers are with the injured parties at this time,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
