MENOCINO, CALIFORNIA (January , 2017) – A collision ensued between a pickup truck with camper and grape truck on Highway 101 Tuesday morning, according to the Hopland Fire Protection District. (map)

The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. on the southbound lanes of the 101 Freeway north of the main commercial strip of Hopeland. The pick-up smashed directly into the side of the grape truck, crushing the pick-up truck’s engine and part of the it’s cab underneath it.

The severity of the injuries from the crash are unknown. Emergency crews were called to the scene to give aid to the victims involved in the collision. A medical helicopter had to be dispatched to Hopland as a result. The collision caused traffic to be backed up in both directions.
