The accident happened around 2:30 pm on Friday, at the intersection of 59th Street and Heliotrope Avenue. A white Dodge Challenger reportedly flew down the street at a high rate of speed, hitting two pedestrians in the roadway before crashing into several parked cars.

One of the pedestrians was tragically pronounced dead as a result of their injuries, and the other was rushed to a hospital in unknown condition. The driver of the involved vehicle reportedly attempted to flee the scene, before being arrested by a nearby code enforcement officer. Initial reports indicate alcohol may have been a factor in the collision, and the investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
