“Hit and Run Suspected”
MAXWELL, CALIFORNIA (February 16, 2017) – Two cars were involved in a suspected hit and run accident on Thursday night on the 5 Freeway and Delevan Road, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 7:50 p.m., when a blue Toyota sedan, traveling northbound on the 5 Freeway, swerved to avoid a red Toyota SUV. The Toyota sedan then spun out of control and struck the center divider, while the SUV pulled over to the right shoulder and continued on, exiting on Delevan Road. At least one person inside the sedan sustained injuries and paramedics responded to the scene. The severity of injuries and number of people involved is unknown at this time.
Police are still trying to find the SUV involved in the accident. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.
