MARTINEZ, CALIFORNIA (May 8, 2017) – Two cars were involved in a collision on State Route 4 on Monday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)
The accident happened around 10:14 am on the westbound side of State Route 4 near Franklin Canyon Road. A blue Honda sedan traveling at a high rate of speed was involved in a collision with a water truck for an unknown reason. A Caltrans truck was also spotted at the scene but it is unknown if it was involved in the crash or not.
At least two people were injured in the accident, with one female being trapped inside her vehicle after the crash. The accident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
