“Motorcycle Fatality”
ANTIOCH, CALIFORNIA (AUGUST 26, 2017) – 54-year-old Mark Mcgoveran was involved in a motorcycle collision on the southbound Highway 160 and Wibur Avenue on-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The incident happened at approximately 8:30 a.m. Mcgoveran entered onto the Highway when the motorcycle struck a small curb while crossing the gore point, a triangular area which divides drivers going up the on-ramp from continuing traffic, according to spokesman Officer Brandon Correia.
McGoveran was ejected from the motorcycle was then struck by a sedan while another vehicle struck the motorcycle. McGoveran died at the scene.
Several motorist were seen traveling with McGoveran. However, no one stopped nor has anyone been located.
An investigation is ongoing to determine if drug and alcohol were factors in the collision.
