WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA (September 26, 2017) – Maribel Davila was tragically identified as one of the three family members killed in a horrible DUI accident on the 605 Freeway on September 26th, according to a local news source. (map)

Around 10:15 pm on Tuesday, Maribel was traveling southbound in a Nissan sedan along with her husband Mario, and their son Oscar. A Chevrolet Camaro driven by an off duty LAPD officer under the influence of alcohol rear ended the Davila family’s Nissan, causing the car to erupt into flames.

Maribel Davlia, her husband Mario, and her son Oscar were all tragically trapped inside the sedan and killed as a result of the accident. The driver of the Camaro suffered a broken nose, and was identified as Edgar Verduzco, a 26 year old LAPD officer. He was arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter and suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends as they cope with such tragic loss,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all parties affected in this tragedy as they try to piece together what happened.”
