MARCO ISLAND, FLORIDA (February 28, 2017) – A construction worker was injured after an accident at a construction site on Bald Eagle Drive on Tuesday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 1:00 pm at a construction site on 825 Bald Eagle Drive. A 1 ton sea wall was being moved when it slipped off a chain and pinned several construction workers in the hole they were in. One construction worker, identified only as a male in his 30s, was seriously injured.

The construction worker was taken by helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries, and his current condition is unknown. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
