The plane crash happened around 8:00 am, just after the Piper PA-28-181 aircraft took off from Page Field. Flying the plane was 55 year old Anthony Greco Jr, vice president of ACRA Electric, and accompanying him was 37 year old Marc Scott. Just after takeoff, the small plane crashed into the daycare at Chico’s campus, at 11215 Metro Parkway in Fort Meyers.
Marc Scott was tragically killed in the accident. The plane burst into flames after the crash, but pilot Anthony Greco was able to escape the debris. He was rushed to a hospital in serious condition after the accident. The daycare was luckily unoccupied at the time of the crash. The NTSB is already on site and has removed the plane wreckage to a storage facility for examination at this time.
“The thoughts and prayers of everyone at our firm is with the family and friends of Marc Scott during this difficult time. There are no words that can comfort those affected after this terrible tragedy. We also wish a swift and steady recovery to Anthony Greco Jr,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
