Marc Garner II, 36, Killed in Solo Vehicle Collision on Highway 41 near Highway 180 and 168 Interchange

“Solo Vehicle Fatality”

FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (August 1, 2017) – 36 year-old Marc Garner II was involved in a solo vehicle crash on Highway 41 early Tuesday morning, according the the California Highway Patrol. (map)

The collision was report at approximately 4:30 a.m., Garner was traveling southbound on Highway 41 in a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. Garner drove his vehicle into an area that separates highways 180 and 168 interchange lanes. Garner drover between two guardrails and slammed into a cement freeway support post, according to CHP.

The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to overturn blocking all traffic from continuing through that lane. Garner was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses said the car went up in flames.

An investigation is ongoing to determine if alcohol and/or drugs were factors in the collsion.
