The accident happened around 8:41 pm on Highway 120 near Main Street. A 2009 Mercedes made an unsafe lane maneuver and crashed into a guardrail and a freeway sign. A man in the rear of the car then exited the vehicle and moved to the right shoulder. Less than a minute later, a 2002 Hyundai collided with the Mercedes.
The driver of the Mercedes, identified as 30 year old Guillermo Aguilera-Escalante was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. 16 year old Jesus Ramirez, a front seat passenger, was rushed to San Joaquin General Hospital where he tragically died as well. The driver of the Hyundai, a 38 year old woman, was hospitalized in unknown condition. The accident remains under investigation, however initial reports indicate Guillermo Escalante may have been under the influence of alcohol.
