Spring Valley: Man Strikes and Kills Deer with Vehicle, then Falls Off Bridge on SR-125

SPRING VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (April 17, 2018) – An unidentified man was killed in a bizarre incident after his vehicle crashed into a deer on the toll road overpass near the Sweetwater Reservoir in Bonita on Tuesday morning.(map)

The man was driving northbound on State Route 125 toll road overpass and was approaching State Route 54. The vehicle then hit the deer, killing the animal, and consequently becoming disable in the right lane of the two-lane highway overpass. The man got out of of his vehicle, went to the side of the road, and fell off the bridge along the northbound 125, near the 54, in Benita at 4:40 am this morning.
Officials assume that the man was waiting for help at the bridge on the side of the road when he fell over. The 50-foot plunge tragically killed him on the scene.

It is unclear at the time whether the city had animal crossing signs installed along the road for drivers. Information is still being released and Lexton Law will continue to update this article as more information becomes available.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
