Fatal Bicycle Crash on Highway 1 Under Investigation

WATSONVILLE, CALIFORNIA (December 11, 2016) – A bicycle rider died in an accident near the intersection of PCH (CA-1) and Deer Creek Road on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)

According to the CHP report, the cyclist lost control in the dirt on the right shoulder and fell. It is unknown if another vehicle was involved in the crash.

Sadly, the bicycle rider, whose identity has not been released, died in the accident.

The fatal incident remains under investigation.
