“Semi vs. Vehicle Fatality”

The accident occurred at approximately at 4:00 a.m. Four teenagers were traveling northbound in a Kia Sorrento on the 16900 block of Alderwood Mall Parkway. The Sorrento collided into the rear of a parked semi-truck causing the Sorrento to go underneath the back of the trailer.
Three of the teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth teenager, a 15-year-old girl, was transported to Harborview Medical Center where she is stable condition. The identities of the teenagers have not yet been released.
Although it is legal for trucks to park their trailers along Alderwood Mall Parkway, the trailer of the truck involved in the collision was not properly parked. The front of the trailer faced oncoming traffic, according to a spokeswoman from the Sheriff’s Department.
“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort these teenager’s family and friends as they cope with such an incredible loss,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “The thoughts and prayers of our staff are with them, as well as the young people who were injured, as they try to piece together what happened.””
