SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA (February 28, 2017) – Three people have died in a three car accident on Highway 1 on Tuesday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 1 near Wilder Ranch. A white Buick Regal was driving south when it crossed into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons, colliding with a northbound Chevrolet Blazer.
The front seat passenger of the Buick, identified as 20-year-old David Martinez-Escobar, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Buick, 21-year-old Alex Lopez, was rushed to Valley Medical Center where he died a short time later. The driver of the Chevrolet Blazer, a 56-year-old woman, was rushed to a hospital, where she too was pronounced dead. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
