Lucia Mateo Miguel Struck by Train and Killed on Panorama Road and Ivy Street

“Investigation Ongoing”

RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (April 26, 2017) – Lucia Mateo Miguel has been identified as the woman that was struck by a freight train and killed on Wednesday in Riverside, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 6:30 pm near Panorama Road and Ivy Street. A BNSF freight train struck a 36 year old woman that was walking southbound on the tracks for an unknown reason.

36 year old Lucia Mateo Miguel was tragically pronounced dead after being struck by the train. The coroner’s release states she was struck by the train, but was found in an open field near Park Avenue.

This tragic news comes soon after the family of Richard Lessert announced a lawsuit against BNSF. Richard Lessert and Douglas Schmitz were both killed in a tragic accident with a BNSF train in January of this year, when they was struck by a train while clearing snow and ice from the track. A semi truck was also struck by a BNSF train on Monday, April 24th, but luckily nobody was injured in that accident.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all the family members and friends of Lucia Mateo Miguel as they cope with such tragic loss,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all parties affected in this tragedy as they try to piece together what happened.”
