LOS GATOS: Man Killed in DUI Crash on Highway 17 near Lexington Reservoir

“Solo Vehicle Fatality”

LOS GATOS, CALIFORNIA (August 20, 2017) – A male passenger died in a solo vehicle collision on Highway 17 near Lexington Reservoir early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)

The accident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. when a driver of a Ford Escape, identified as 50-year-old Gabriella Fregoso, lost control and of the vehicle, careened down an embankment approximately 200 to 300 feet and overturned, according to CHP Officer Ross Lee.

The male passenger was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the passenger has not yet been released.

Fregoso suffered an injury. However, the severity of the injury is unknown. Fregoso was transported to Valley Medical Center for treatment. Fregoso was later arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
