LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (February 2, 2017) – A 74 year old man identified as Valentin Herrera was injured in an accident on Thursday in the 2600 block of North Lincoln Park Avenue, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 5:20 pm in the 2600 block of North Lincoln Park Avenue. 74 year old Valentin Herrera was walking his Pomeranian, Dodger, when two pit bulls suddenly attacked the Pomeranian. Valentin tried to save Dodger, but the pitbulls then turned on Herrera and attacked him.
Valentin was rescued and rushed to a hospital, where he had brain surgery and is expected to survive. Dodger the Pomeranian was tragically killed in the attack. The investigation is ongoing, however initial interviews with neighbors and such have confirmed that this is not the first time those in the neighborhood have had problems with the pitbulls.
