LOS ANGLES, CALIFORNIA (March 27, 2017) – One person sustained critical injuries early Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on the southbound 5-Freeway near Cesar Chavez Avenue in a Boyle Heights neighborhood. (map)
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene to find that one of the drivers was trapped inside their vehicle. It took 20 minutes to extricate the victim from the vehicle.
This driver was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. An investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.
