LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (July 31, 2017) – At least nine people sustained injuries after a van plowed into a crowd outside a restaurant on Sunday, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 3:45 pm in the 5000 block of West Pico Boulevard, at a restaurant called The Fish Spot. A van reportedly ran a red light and struck another car. The impact pushed the van up onto the curb, through a fence, and into a crowd of people eating at the restaurant.
A 44 year old man sustained critical injuries, three more sustained serious injuries, and four others were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Several of those injured were trapped underneath the van.
The van’s driver, who remains unidentified, may have attempted to leave the scene and was restrained by witnesses. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
“Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent driver who caused the accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a car accident and personal injury law firm.
