“LAPD Officer identified as fatal victim”
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (January 2, 2017) – According to the Simi Valley Police Department, an off-duty Los Angeles police officer was killed on Sunday in a collision at the intersection of Cochran Street and Sycamore Drive. (map)
SVPD Commander Robert Brill reported that Officer Heather Monroe was a passenger in the car that collided with an Uber driver around 2:10 a.m. One of the vehicles involved in the accident appeared to not have stopped at a red light.
Commander Brill states that Officer Monroe was pronounced dead at the scene while the drivers of the vehicle and another passenger were transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.
