LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (December 31, 2016) – A woman was killed on Saturday morning when she was struck by a car on West Second Street and Emerald Street, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 2:00 am at the intersection of West Second Street and Emerald Street. A woman identified as 47 year old Eugenie Pelagio was struck by a car at the intersection, and the responsible car immediately fled the scene.

Eugenie Pelagio was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was sadly pronounced dead at the trauma center. The investigation into the deadly accident is ongoing as authorities attempt to determine cause and liability.
