The LAPD reported that the victim was leaving a party around 1:55 a.m. when she was hit by a gray SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer or Expedition. The suspected hit-and-run driver fled the scene of the accident.
Tipsters can call Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division at (213) 833-3713, the department’s 24 hour hotline (877) LAPD-24-7 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both drivers and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said pedestrian accident Attorney West Seegmiller.
