“Big Rig Accident”
LOS ALAMOS, CALIFORNIA (May 2, 2017) – A wrong way driver was killed after colliding with a semi truck on Highway 101 on Tuesday night, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 9:00 pm. A silver Dodge Caravan was heading northbound in the southbound lanes for an unknown reason, and collided head on with a semi truck at the scene. A third vehicle was also involved in the collision as well.
The driver of the wrong way car, identified as a 79 year old man from Santa Maria, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the accident. The driver of the semi truck and the driver of the third involved vehicle were uninjured in the accident. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
