LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK (February 23, 2017) – A 31-year-old Daniel Krehl from Mastic Beach was killed in a collision with a semi truck on Thursday morning on Montauk Highway, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 3:00 a.m. on the eastbound side of Montauk Highway near Fanning Landing Road. Daniel Krehl was driving a silver 2005 Saturn SUV east on the highway when he struck a parked tractor trailer on the side of the road. Daniel Krehl was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the accident.
Heavy fog was reported in the area at the time of the crash and the semi-truck allegedly had its flashers on. The accident remains under open investigation at this time.
