The accident happened around 8:30 am at the intersection of Fashion Avenue and 28th Street. A Honda Accord driven by a 25 year old man was speeding and heading northbound on Fashion Avenue when he ran a stop sign on 28th Street and struck a Toyota Camry in the intersection. The impact caused the Toyota to spin out.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and found a teenage girl in the back seat who sustained critical injuries, and rushed her to a hospital. The condition of the other three people inside the Toyota Camry is unknown. The driver of the Honda has been identified as 25 year old Darren Israel Briley. Briley initially fled the scene, but was located and arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit and run.
