LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA (March 30, 2017) – A single car accident was reported on Interstate 605 on Thursday late morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident happened around 11:49 am on the southbound side of Interstate 605 near Katella Avenue, when a car crashed into the sand barrels for an unknown reason. The car then caught on fire from the impact.
At least one person was transported to Long Beach Memorial Hospital after the accident. The California Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation to determine cause and liability.
