“Investigation Ongoing”

LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA (September 29, 2017) – A pedestrian was struck by a train and injured at the Wardlow station on Friday morning, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 8:52 am at the Wardlow Station near Pacific Plane and Wardlow Road. A pedestrian was struck by a Blue Line train for an unknown reason.

The pedestrian was rescued by emergency personnel and rushed to a hospital in unknown condition. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability. This is the second serious accident within the last month at Wardlow station. On August 29th, a man reportedly fleeing police was pinned between a Blue Line train and the platform, and had to be extricated. Sadly, he was tragically killed.

“Almost one death or injury per day occurs on the rail system in the United States. Many of these tragic deaths are avoidable, the rail system is antiquated and needs a complete overhaul to ensure the safety of pedestrians, drivers, and train passengers,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law.
