LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA (January 1, 2017) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a male pedestrian was struck by a car on Thursday afternoon in the northbound lane of the 405 freeway, just south of Palo Verde exit. (map)
CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig reported that a man had gotten out of a dark colored sedan that was traveling southbound on the I-405 when he was struck by a car around 1:42 p.m. while crossing the northbound lanes of the I-405.
Officer Kravig states that the injuries of the pedestrian man were not immediately available.
“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both drivers and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said pedestrian accident Attorney .
