LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA (January 25, 2017) – A fatal hit and run accident occurred on Wednesday morning, at approximately 6 a.m., on the 600 block of Redondo Avenue. (map)

The victim has been identified as 77-year-old Jackie Morris of Long Beach. Morris was crossing Redondo Avenue, when a the hit and run driver of a silver 4-door compact car with dark tinted windows, hit her and did not break fled the scene. Sadly, Morris was pronounced dead at the scene.

Long Beach Police Department is currently searching for the hit and run driver. No description of the driver is available at this time.
