LONG BEACH: Pedestrian in Critical Condition after Accident on 405 Freeway near Palo Verde Avenue

“Pedestrian Accident”

LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA (January 5, 2017) – A pedestrian was seriously injured in an accident on Thursday on the 405 Freeway, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 1:45 pm on the northbound side of the 405 Freeway near the Palo Verde Avenue exit. A man exited a dark colored sedan for an unknown reason when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle.

The pedestrian was left in critical condition and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his current condition is unknown. Authorities are conducting and investigation to determine cause and liability.

“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
