The accident happened around 8:40 pm at the Wardlow Station. A man, identified only as being in his 20s, was reportedly involved in some kind of interaction with police, and was standing too close to the edge of the platform when an incoming train arrived. He was struck by the train and knocked down between the train and the platform, becoming trapped.

Arriving emergency personnel used airbags to free the man, and rushed him to a local hospital. He tragically died a short time later from his injuries. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
