LOMA LINDA, CALIFORNIA (December 19, 2016) – An active duty Marine who survived a tour of duty in Afghanistan that included a mine explosion was killed on Monday morning after being hit by a car on the 10 Freeway, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 1:30 am on the 10 Freeway near Loma Linda. Eric Antonio Rojo, a 29 year old man, was driving to LAX with his fiancé to visit his parents in Houston when he saw a car that had flipped over onto its roof. Always a soldier and a helper, Eric Antonio pulled over to help the female driver out of her car, when he was struck by a passing car that swerved to avoid the accident.
Eric Antonio Rojo was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability. Enrico will be missed by all who knew him, and his death is a tragedy of untold proportions.
